CH 1: Thanksgiving for Response to the Gospel

Q1. What was Paul’s reason for thanks? (v2-4)

Because of their work of faith and labor of love and endurance of hope. And this was the sign that God has chosen them.

Q2. How did Paul believe that God has chosen them? (v5)

Paul saw the power and conviction of the Holy Spirit.

Q3. How did Paul say that the Holy Spirit worked in them? (v5-6)

When Paul arrived at Thessalonica, he had fled from persecution in Philippi. Though they saw persecution of Christians, they believe the gospel. It was the work of the Holy Spirit.

CH 2: Paul’s ministry in Thessalonica

CH 3: Exhortation to Maturity of Love

Q1. What is the purpose of sending Timothy to Thessalonica? (v1-3)

To strengthen their faith amid afflictions.

Timothy brought the report from the Thessalonian church that they were secure in faith and love

CH 4: Exhortation to live accordingly
